Bhubaneswar: Odisha Society of UK hosted an exhibition on photographs of eminent Photographer Mr. Prodeepta Das and a talk show on the theme of ‘Steel and Society’ at Rich Mix, London on 7th July, 2012. The event was attended by Mr. Partha Sengupta, VP RM & CSI, Tata Steel, DR. Tulasi Munda eminent social activist and leader of tribal societies, Dr Kalpana Mishra, President Odisha Society UK, a senior diplomat represented the Ambassador of Mozambique and a cross section of the societies of London.
Mr Partha Sengupta and other dignitaries first went round the innovative photo exhibition set up by Mr Prodeepta Das on Steel and Society.
Dr. Tulasi Munda spoke about the care and attention provided by Tata Steel to the tribal populace at its project area s in Odisha. She also added that due to Tata Steel tribal children are able to get better healthcare facility and free of cost educational facility. Dr. Kalpana Mishra, President of Odisha Society, UK referred to the historic association between Tata Steel and the state of Odisha and wished that the association will continue and strengthen its admirable work for the people of Odisha. Mr. Partha Sengupta, VP RM & CSI, Tata Steel informed the gathering about the range of educational, health care and cultural initiatives as well as infrastructural development undertaken by Tata Steel for the benefit of the wider society. He stressed, however, the company’s commitment to finding ways of improving its delivery.
