Dhamra: Dhamra Port on Tuesday celebrated the first anniversary of its port inauguration within its port premises. On this occasion the Port Management awarded 6 employees as best safety performers and felicitated another 25 employees, workers and security personnel for showing exemplary service and discipline.
23 meritorious students from schools of port periphery villages were also presented the ‘DPCL Merit Scholarship’ by Collector Bhadrak Sri A K Pani in the presence of Vice-President (Operation & Maintenance) of DCPL Sri Prem Kumar Sinha.
A lady of Jagula village near Dhamra Port area Ms. Bhagabati Jena was presented the Dhamra Port ‘Prasansa Samman’ for taking up challenges in life and successfully maintaining her family after being deserted by her husband and other family members.
Dhamra Port CSR Head Sri Himansu Shekhar Sahu addressed the gathering highlighting various CSR activities being under-taken to develop the port periphery area and informed that in the peripheral activities priority is given in the health and education scenario in periphery areas.
A troupe of Doordarshan artists performed a play on port safety “Surakshya” which was followed presentation of comic poem by the ‘Great Odisha Political Circus’ fame Sri Braja Bihari Subudhi alias ‘Bolagada Express’.
A cultural programme hosted by Sri Sahu also arranged by the port in which the students of Dhamra Port Art & Culture Centre performed various dance items and showcased an exhibition of paintings on Dhamra Port operations.
One of the key attractions of the cultural evening was versatile singer Anindita Das, who kept the audience steel bound with her magical performance for nearly 2 hours.
